Traditionally partitions divide spaces in an effective manner and improve the work performance in each isolated area by eliminating the presence of neighboring areas. However, when adding a mental factor, METAPHYS recognized another concept that partitions pose.

It was from a totally opposite idea. It was a division of space with a curve, which in a way looks inefficient, and you feel the presence of a person behind the partition. Hard inorganic surfaces transformed to 3D curves made by soft stretch knit. The light passing through and the silhouette like a shoji-screen; all of which are the result of seeking not only spatial effects, but also mental effects on the people there. In addition to the mental effects, METAPHYS pursued an eco-friendly concept. Traditional partitions have the issue of the weight of the panels, transportation cost, labor cost, and installation fees, as well as difficulty in disposal because they consist of various parts and materials. However, since Falce consists of aluminum extrusions and a knit cover, it is easy to disassemble and recycle. In addition, Falce achieved a CO2 emissions reduction in the total lifecycle by allowing users to assemble it easily and save space for transportation and storage, and incorporating a long-life-design, allowing users to change or wash the cover.
